New 2015 Audi A3 is a car that remains the chief player in the market of small entry-level luxurious vehicles. By the way, it’s the first A3 sedan, because all the previous A3 cars were five-door hatchbacks. However, so-called Sportback is available this year as a hybrid model.
Except for four-door sedan and sportback configuration, two-door convertible Cabriolet is available. Only one available Premium trim level is offered with Prestige and Premium Plus optional packages. From its appearance you can see that it has absolutely new sheetmetal, LED headlamps and expressive back-up radiator grille. Horizontal dashboard looks like in Volkswagen, but due to round fans it’s surely different. Three tiny knobs for climate control, new Multimedia Interface Controller on the console and LCD screen underling German style of infotainment system.
All the 2015 Audi A3 cars are mated with six-speed automated mechanical transmission and allow you to choose between turbocharged four-cylinder engines: 2.0T quattro and 1.8T. If you decide that sedan is better for you, then you can also prefer another variant of engine – 2.0 TDI, which is fueled by diesel. Sporty S3 powertrain is also available.
Configured with FWD, A3 1.8T can provide 200 pound-feet of torque and 170 horsepower. It can be accelerated to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds, and its mileage equals to 23/33 (city/highway) (if it is convertible it is 24/35 mpg). 2.0T is able to produce 258 lb.-ft. of torque and 220 horsepower. It is equipped with all-wheel drive configuration. Using this car, you can accelerate to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds. Four-door sedan configuration has 24 mpg mileage, while convertible – 26 mpg. TDI configuration features diesel 2.0 liter engine that is able to provide 236 lb.-ft of torque and 150 hp. It can be only in sedan configuration, can achieve the speed of 60 in 8.1 seconds, and has the highest fuel efficiency specs – 31/43 mpg.
